WHAT IS A JUICE CLEANSE?
A JUICE CLEANSE IS A SHORT TERM, FRESH, RAW, ALL LIQUID DIET THAT IS USED TO ASSIST ONE IN ACHIEVING THEIR HEALTH GOALS.
YOU MIGHT HAVE HEARD THE TERM “JUICE FAST”—I DON’T REALLY LIKE IT. A FAST IMPLIES YOU’RE STARVING YOUR BODY, WHICH SHOULDN'T EVER BE THE GOAL.
NOURISH, DON'T DEPRIVE. A JUICE CLEANSE MEANS YOU STILL RECEIVE PLENTY OF SUSTENANCE, BUT IN THE FORM OF WHOLESOME, ORGANIC, FRESHLY-PRESSED VEGGIE AND FRUIT JUICE. THIS GIVES YOUR DIGESTIVE SYSTEM—INCLUDING FILTERING ORGANS LIKE LIVER, KIDNEYS, AND GALL BLADDER—A BREAK FROM PROCESSING HEAVY PROTEINS, FAT, AND OTHER COMPONENTS OF YOUR DIET THAT TAKE A LOT OF WORK TO SORT OUT, GIVING YOU SIMPLY GOOD, CLEAN ENERGY TO WORK WITH. FOR THE THE FIRST TWO OR THREE DAYS, DETOXIFICATION IS AT ITS MOST DRASTIC AND NOTICEABLE, AS THE BODY ADJUSTS TO THE NEW REGIME. FEELING UNDER THE WEATHER, HAVING A HEADACHE, FATIGUE, AND MINOR SKIN BLEMISHES ARE ALL COMMON SYMPTOMS OF DETOXIFICATION, AND SHOULD BE EMBRACED! THIS IS YOUR BODY DOING THE WORK!

CAN I WORK OUT WHILE CLEANSING?

IS IT OKAY TO SNACK ON ANYTHING DURING MY CLEANSE?
I RECOMMEND A 100% JUICE CLEANSE. WHEN YOUR BODY SPENDS ENERGY TO DIGEST FOOD THE JUICE CLEANSING PROCESS IS SLOWED DOWN. SO…NO SNACKING WHILE JUICING!!
WHAT IF I CAN'T FINISH ALL OF MY JUICES FOR THE DAY?
THAT'S OKAY! EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT AND IT REALLY IS AMAZING HOW FILLING JUICE CAN ACTUALLY BE. YOU ARE NOT DISRUPTING YOUR CLEANSE IN ANYWAY BY NOT FINISHING ALL OF YOUR JUICES. IT JUST MEANS YOU MAY HAVE EXTRA TO CLEANSE FOR AN EXTRA DAY IF YOU WANT TO.
MOST LIKELY THOUGH, BY THE THIRD OR FOURTH DAY YOUR APPETITE FOR JUICE WILL PICK UP AND YOU'LL FIND IT EASIER TO DRINK IT ALL.
WHAT IF I EXPERIENCE REALLY LOW ENERGY DURING THE CLEANSE?
IT IS 100% NORMAL AND HEALTHY TO BE TIRED WHEN YOU CLEANSE. YOUR ORGANS ARE WORKING VERY HARD TO CLEAN OUT AND REJUVENATE THEMSELVES DURING THIS BREAK YOU ARE GIVING THEM, AND THE SIDE EFFECTS CAN INCLUDE A HEALTHY BIT OF LETHARGY. IF YOU CAN SWING IT ALLOW YOUR BODY TO GO THROUGH THIS PROCESS AND CHILL, FOR OPTIMUM RESULTS. I SUGGEST LYING DOWN FLAT ON YOUR BACK FOR AT LEAST 20 MINUTES A DAY WHILE CLEANSING. YOUR BODY WILL THANK YOU.

Why should I juice cleanse?
The benefits of doing a cleanse are abundant:
When you take a break from eating (chewing) food, your body and organs have more energy to heal as well as give your digestive system a break (no bloating!).
The body is able to expel free radicals and goes through autolysis (where weak cells are metabolized) which fosters the youthful glow.
Opportunity to abstain from less than ideal foods and overcome sugar cravings and not-so nutritious eating habits.
The chlorophyll rich juices can bind to toxins such as heavy metals, radiation, and free-radicals and safely flush them out of your cells.
Cleansing helps the body shed excess weight. My clients have often lost anywhere from 5-20 lbs.
The weight you lose is often kept off long-term because during the cleanse you are receiving a full spectrum of nutrients and minerals that help you weed out cravings as well as resets your body’s metabolism.
How do I prepare for a juice cleanse?
After you set your start date, start to wean off caffeine, sugar, gluten, animal protein, dairy and heavy processed foods. If you drink caffeine it is wise to start weaning yourself off a few days prior to cleansing and replacing caffeine with decaf and eventually enjoying herbal teas. Also, start increasing your intake of veggies and dark leafy greens before your cleanse.
Will I lose weight?
Everybody is different so I can’t guarantee a weight loss but it is typical. Between the lower caloric intake and the anti-inflammatory ingredients you are creating in your body, weight will naturally come off. Many cleansers experience losing 5-20 lbs.
Can I cleanse if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
You are already working hard growing a baby, or feeding a baby. Juice cleansing isn’t recommended if you are pregnant and newly breastfeeding.
Can I drink water?
Absolutely! We recommend drinking water daily through out the cleanse. It helps to flush out toxins and fight those hunger pangs. Most of the time we aren’t hungry, we are just dehydrated.
Can I drink coffee?
I recommend weaning off coffee a few days before your start date. Start substituting with decaf and then herbal tea. Caffeine is acidic and inflammatory and during a cleanse, it’s time to heal the body.
Can I drink tea?
Yes! Herbal tea is great. Try Chamomile or Peppermint. Avoiding caffeine is recommended as it’s irritating to the digestive system.
What if I'm hungry?
Here are a few ideas:
Have another juice from your cleanse.
Have a big glass of water with lemon and a pinch of pink Himalayan sea salt.
What do I do after the cleanse?
I have many options to choose from post-cleanse with plant-based, holistic recipes and meals. Many people jump into one of MY maintenance or subscription programs to sustain their results and keep their energy up.
Will I be tired?
Detox sleep is the BEST! It’s common to have the best sleep ever during and after your cleanse. Also while Day 1 is usually a big transition, detoxifying day, you might feel a bit tired as your body works hard to expel toxins. But as your cleanse works its magic, it’s common to fall asleep peacefully at night and wake up with renewed spark. If you do feel sleepy then we suggest taking a nap, meditating, or just having some quiet time.
Will I need to stick to the bathroom during my cleanse?
Everyone is different so your cleanse diet experience will be unique to you. You will be drinking a lot of liquids so your body will adjust and flush out any excess
